Two Programs by ISSMGE for Young Members

Dear Young IGS Members
 
Two activities are organized for young ISSMGE members in 2009, called:
1- ISSMGE Young Member Awards; and
2- 4iYGEC (4th International Young Geotechnical Engineering Conference
IGS also has been asked to nominate eligible members for these programs. The general terms and conditions for each plan are as follows:
 
1-      For ISSMGE Young Member Awards:
-         being member of ISSMGE via IGS;
-         Less than 36 years old on 31st December 2008;
-         One nomination may be made by IGS based on technical papers submitted to the forthcoming ICSMGE (in Egypt 2009) or previous Regional CSMGE (in India 2007);
-         Complete CV of the nominee;
-         Maximum 3 awards will be given to eligible ISSMGE young members according to selection of International Award Committee of ISSMGE.
-         Each award will consist of a certificate and a cheque for 500 UK Pounds.
 
2-      For 4iYGEC:
-         The Conference begins on 3rd and 4th of Oct. 2009, two days before the 17th ICSMGE 2009 in Egypt;
-         being member of ISSMGE via IGS;
-         Less than 36 years old on 31st December 2008;
-         Two nomination may be made by IGS based on abstracts submitted to IGS;
-         There are no preferences for themes of the conference. Abstracts with about 250 words and final papers should be between 2 and 4 pages, having a single author attending in conference;
-         Dead line for abstract submission to IGS is 12 Feb. 2009;
-         Deadline for full paper submission 15th May 2009 via IGS;
-         450 $US registration fee to be paid before 15th May 2009. This fee will include: Full accommodation from 2nd to 7th of Oct. (5 nights) at the El-Mahrousa Hotel, all meals and tea breaks and conference documents
The eligible and interested members are requested to send the required information for one or both programs for me (fardin@sharif.edu) as soon as possible within one week. Also, please do not hesitate to ask, if there is any questions regarding the programs.
