Proposal for the Selection of Keynote Speakers of 14 ARC
(a) The Main Criterion for Selection of a Keynote Speaker
The main criterion for selection of a Keynote Speaker should be his/her overall contribution to the subject (or theme) area.
(b) Themes for Keynote Papers
There are already 17 themes proposed in Bulletin No.1 (see Table 1). A keynote paper author may select one of the 17 themes or other outstanding topics for his/her keynote paper.
(c) Number of Keynote Papers and Procedure for Selection of Keynote Speakers
It is noted that the CAC meeting held in Alexandria, Egypt suggested to have 8 keynote papers for 14 ARC. All member societies in Asian Region are listed in Table 2.
The procedure for the selection of keynote speakers is as follows:
(a) Each of all member societies is invited to nominate up to 2 keynote speakers by a deadline 22 March 2010.
(b) The member society shall submit to LOC the proposed theme of the keynote paper and a brief biography of each nominated keynote speaker by the deadline.
(c) The LOC shall pass all nomination materials to CAC for consideration and decision by May 2010.
(d) The CAC chooses the keynote speakers based on the input from the national societies and the main criterion.
